Our refinery includes a complex of crude oil primary distillation, complex of compounding and oil products dispatch, complex of crude oil advanced processing (a fuel complex – KT-1 for deep processing of fuel oil).

Supply & Trading

We engage in trading physical oil stocks and CSO tickets. We carry out trade on behalf of refineries, importers, and other economic operators that are active in the market for oil products and are subject to a stock obligation under the EU Directive.

Central Asian Petroleum LLC has well-developed Utilities & Offsite facilities: commodity and raw feed tank farms, liquefied gases tank farm, loading and unloading racks for oil products transportation by rail and road transport. We conducts an active social policy; all necessary conditions are created for labor, life and health of employees. The priority for Central Asian Petroleum LLC today is to ensure the production of motor fuels corresponding to the ecological classes K4, K5, in the amount necessary for the country’s needs, increase technical resource of the refinery, its output for a three-year inter-repair cycle, production of Jet A jet fuel of international standard which is new for the refinery.

Sustainable development

Since 2013, the Company has been publishing a Sustainable Development Report prepared in accordance with the GRI Guidelines. In 2021, diagnostics of the company’s ESG system was started and a Roadmap of recommendations for improving the company’s ESG system and increasing positions in ESG ratings was developed. In its activities, Central Asian Petroleum LLC consistently adheres to the high principles of ESG and corporate governance standards. In order to comply with these principles, the Company intends to apply the best international experience in doing business, protecting the environment, ensuring safe working conditions, and developing human capital.

THE REFINING PROCESS

Distillation separates crude oil into light (fuels) and (asphalt) heavy oils.

CRUDE DISTILLATION UNIT

Distillation is the process by which various hydrocarbons are drawn off based on their varying boiling points inside of a distillation tower. The heaviest hydrocarbons have the highest boiling points and are pulled from the bottom of the tower, whereas lighter hydrocarbons are pulled from higher locations on the tower as the boiling points decrease.

HYDROTREATER

Government regulations require petroleum products to limit the amount of sulfur they contain. Therefore, refineries must treat any stream containing sulfur. This process is called hydrotreating. Hydrotreating extracts sulfur by passing the petroleum streams over fixed catalyst beds in the presence of excess hydrogen at elevated temperature and pressure.
